About Me

I am an avid entrepreneur with 16 years of experience in marketing. I graduated in 2008 from the University of Missouri in Columbia with a degree in communications with a minor in political science. I spent several months in Washington D.C. as an intern during my college career writing constituent letters and giving capital tours for the late Congressman Ike Skelton. I received my graduate degree from Drury University in Springfield, MO and graduated in 2013 with a Master of Arts Degree in Communications with an emphasis in Integrated Marketing.

During my professional career as the marketing director for Hogan Land Title Company, I received 417 magazines “20 under 30” award, Springfield Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” award and was awarded as Affiliate of the Year from the Greater Springfield Board of Realtors.

 
 

I decided to leave my corporate career to start my own business in 2020 called Onie and Sky. As a team, we made more than 10,000 pieces of custom jewelry shipping worldwide and served more than 60 retailers. I gave back a percentage on every purchase either to melanoma research or a strategic partnership with various non-profit organizations in the local community. I sold the company two years later and begun my focus solely on Laurie Marketing that I started in 2017, which I rebranded to Scattered Marketing. I am in sales working for Advertising Plus helping business owners, marketing directors, non-profits and others design and create custom merchandise.

I serve on the Board of Directors with Friends of the Zoo. I also founded the Black Loves Blue event benefitting The Springfield Police Foundation where we raised more than $100,000 for education, training and equipment.

My husband, Spencer and I have three beautiful children, Sloane, Skylar, and Jackson. We enjoy being outdoors, traveling and cooking.
